A room filled with potted plants
Whitefield, Bengaluru · nursery & garden studio

You didn't kill it.
It was the wrong plant.

Most plants die because they were bought for a photo, not for the light in that corner. Tell us how bright your space really is, how often you honestly water, and whether a cat lives there. We will hand you five plants that survive you.

Four questions.
Five plants that live.

Be honest about the watering. A plant that suits a forgetful person is not a lesser plant, it is the right plant. Answers update the shortlist as you go.

How much light does the spot get?Stand there at noon. Can you read a book without a lamp?
How often will you actually water? Not how often you intend to.

Yellow leaves?
Send a photo.

Tap the symptom you see for the usual cause, then message us a photo of the whole plant and the pot base. We reply with a diagnosis, not a product pitch.

Yellow lower leaves, soil damp

Almost always overwatering, not underwatering. Roots are sitting in water and suffocating. Let the top 5 cm dry fully, check the pot actually drains, and stop feeding until new growth appears.

Brown crispy leaf tips

Dry air or salt build-up from hard water and excess fertiliser. Flush the pot with plenty of water once, move it away from the AC vent, and trim tips at an angle.

Fine webbing under leaves

Spider mites, and they spread fast in Bengaluru's dry months. Rinse the whole plant, wipe both sides of every leaf, then neem oil twice a week for three weeks. Isolate it meanwhile.

Long stretched stems, small leaves

Not enough light. The plant is reaching. Move it closer to a window, rotate it weekly, and prune the leggy growth once it is somewhere brighter.

White fuzzy dots in leaf joints

Mealybugs. Dab each one with a cotton bud dipped in diluted isopropyl alcohol, then neem. Check the underside of every leaf and the top of the soil.

Sudden leaf drop after coming home

Usually just shock from the change in light and humidity. Do not repot, do not feed, do not water more. Give it two weeks in a stable spot and it will settle.

FAQ

Honest
answers.

If a plant we matched dies within 30 days, we replace it once, free, and we ask for photos so we learn what went wrong. Beyond that, bring it in and we will try to save it at the clinic. We do not replace plants that were kept somewhere we advised against.

They follow the ASPCA toxicity list. Pet-safe means non-toxic if chewed, not that it will survive a cat sitting in it. If you have a determined cat, ask us about hanging placements instead.

Within Karnataka by road for orders above ₹5,000, packed bare-root where the species allows. We do not ship plants by air or courier; too many arrive cooked.

Yes. Monthly maintenance from ₹1,200 covers pruning, feeding, pest check and replacing anything that has failed. Most balcony clients take it for the first six months and then handle it themselves.

We take back healthy plants you can no longer keep and give store credit at 40% of the current price. Moving cities is a common reason and the plants find new homes the same week.

About 70% are grown at our own poly-house near Hoskote, the rest come from growers in Kerala and Pune. Imported tissue-culture varieties are labelled as such, and they need more care in the first month.
